Ten internet points for identifying the quote.

Via a lot of work by both of us, we now have:

  • A study with a full 8' bookcase, and a much-less-full floorspace
  • Three fewer pieces of furniture*
  • Significantly less stuff
  • Quite a bit of stuff still waiting to be donated to Friends of the Library, Goodwill, or Ducal Prize as appropriate
  • Two very full closets
  • A number of bags of trash waiting for can space
  • No armoire.

We were vaguely planning an Ikea piece, but there is a very reasonably priced vintage furniture store fairly close by. We like the idea of an actual wardrobe/armoire/linen cupboard for not that much more than the Ikea one would cost. Unfortunately, they didn't have any today that we really liked - the one we half fell in love with from their website had been sold previously. Oh well. Maybe in a few weeks when they get their next shipment in.

The only major downside right now is the two very full closets. Hopefully that's temporary.

* Note that we had previously increased our numbers by two, and will potentially be getting one to two more armoires. So long-term this is at best net-neutral, but the entropy level is decreasing.

I love reorganizing and getting the right container or piece of furniture. It's so awesome when you're no longer stepping around things that are put away

Ha ha ha. I totally understand. But before and after pictures are nice to have for yourself.
