madbakerRecently Galen has decided that he absolutely adores salmon and turkey. Or chicken. Probably any similar-smelling poultry. When we're eating, the moment he smells any of these he immediately comes over and starts begging. If we're in the chairs in the front room watching a movie, he'll try to jump up and get next to one of our plates. Since he's not usually food-motivated and is underweight, we haven't discouraged the attention - but I draw the line at him sitting on one of us while we're actually eating.
If the cooked salmon or poultry is relatively unflavored we've been feeding him snippets. He'll gently take a few strands at a time and eat them. Sometimes we can sidetrack him by giving him a dried salmon cat treat instead. Either way, after one to three or four nibbles, he generally goes away satisfied.
Sometimes, like last night, he demands more - but then spits it out Cookie Monster-style. At that point we decide he's done.
