This week's Lockdown Takeout Review: Cafe Ethiopia.
I wasn't inspired or craving anything in particular. This sounded different, and since it's next door to the SF bookstore I knew exactly where it was. We ordered a lamb dish, a beef dish, lentils, cabbage and onion, and a spinach dish. Far more than we needed for dinner but that meant leftovers.

What worked: Very good injira with a nice sour flavor. The spicy lamb was excellent and the beef was good.

What didn't: The vegetable dishes weren't anything special.

Will we visit again? Meh. It's nowhere close to our strip-mall favorite in Sacramento.

It's called Abyssinia. Family-run and we've been there a number of times.

*writes down* Good to know. I'm always looking for another great Ethiopian restaurant.

Our local favorite down here in the South Bay is Zeni. Highly recommend.

the other contender for favorite is Walia, further into San Jose, but I have a history with Zeni and also the parking is much easier at Zeni.
