Kitten update: we introduced them to the (closed) front room while we both were in there. They chased each other and wrassled for a couple hours. We had to break them up a few times; there was some hissing and one or two growls, but no blood. They then crashed out hard.

Yesterday the wife continued the exercise - you see what I did there - and she still had to break them up, but it went better. They also crashed together in the kitty condo box. Closer to co-habitation.

At one point when she left the room, Beatrice tried to open a bag of freeze-dried fish treats while Hildegard kept watch at the door. I... guess that's progress even if it's mildly terrifying to have them work together like that.

Bea spent much of the night on our bed, partly because it was a bit too high for her to feel comfortable jumping down. She didn't sleep for long at any point though; there was much running around on the bed and toe monster-chasing. Around 4 AM I put the piano bench next to the bed and she jumped down and left the room. She came back up on the bed a couple times though. She now seems comfortable enough with the house that we don't have to lock her in a room.
