Good thing she's a girl

Hilde is fascinated by me standing to pee. It's disconcerting to be doing my business and all of a sudden a cat head pops in from behind and between my legs to watch. Usually with a small trill to let me know she's there.

At least I know she won't be imitating me.

In other news, she's roughly 5.25 lbs (but feels much heavier to me). When we got her at the start of July she was under 4 lbs. She's going to be a good-sized cat.

I admit that the part that surprised me in this isn't that the cat is fascinated, but that you stand to pee when at home--it has been more than a decade since I have lived with a man who doesn't always sit to use the toilet, because he feels it is just so much easier for cleaning later when there is less splatter.
