Turgid Drama of Wasted Alcohol
Feb. 5th, 2021 09:09 amI went to the medium-box booze store to reload on house red wine. I also picked up a six-pack of beer; I'm not out, but I only have a couple bottles left. I placed the basket on the checkout counter and moved down to pay with my card.
As the checker took out the bottles of wine, that left the beer on the far end of the basket and the basket on the edge of the counter. Newtonian physics took over and it overbalanced, falling off the counter and onto the floor, where several of the bottles popped off their caps and spilled beer on the floor.
I just stood there, jaw slightly agape. "...I guess I am not buying that beer," I said cleverly.
