We were pleasantly surprised to be able to schedule a vaccination appointment for yesterday AM (especially since that site closed the day before for lack of shots). So we were half-expecting to show up and be turned away. Instead, it went quickly and smoothly. The only hiccup was having to sit there for half an hour afterwards due to my (possibly outgrown) penicillin allergy.

We both have sore arms but no significant other symptoms so far. They've stretched out the time in between to get more shots in arms; we're scheduled for four weeks out on the second round.

While waiting in the car, I had a mild epiphany regarding healthcare providers' consistent refusal to test for allergies. You'd think they'd want to know if I can have penicillin or not. But I'm pretty sure it's a perceived liability issue - if they test and declare me non-allergic, and I take something and have reaction, I could sue. If they never test then the liability is mine.

Not how healthcare should work, but that's the legal system we have.

I am very glad you got your first shot. Looking forward to seeing you both when we're all safe.
