Day 3 of metered cat feeding: they are not happy. Both are grazers, but since the official word from the 1-year checkup was that they are... ample... we are trying to restore a more balanced intake. We're giving them half the amount of dry kibble and raw rabbit chunks in the morning, and the other half dinner-ish. Bea likes playing with the raw rabbit chunks, batting them around before eating.

In a "it's a small city" moment, our SPCA vet was a vet we went to at a private practice for Galen. She's also the little sister of one of my high school buddies. I don't remember her from then, but I think she was a freshman my senior year so we wouldn't have interacted much.

We have had some success with ours in giving them the dry kibble in what we call "the Claw." It's one of those dishes that are a shallow bowl with smooth plastic stalagmites, so they must paw at it to get kibble out and eat it. We give them a very limited amount of "free food" in their bowls, and then they have access to this all day.

Two of our three are grazers, and one is a "eat until its gone, except if it's work" kind of kitling. We ran into an issue where one of the grazers would bolt her food down like the scarcity it was when we were doing timed feedings only, and then make herself sick, and this cut down on that since the grazers don't mind doing a little work for the small amount they want at any given time.
