Yippee! Neal Stephenson's latest, Quicksilver, is coming out in late September. What makes this journal-worthy is that he's doing a couple of local signings: Cody's in Berkeley and Kepler's in Menlo Park.

This is an author whose works I enjoy immensely. He's also fairly misanthropic and hates doing tours. I think I got some of my copies signed when Cryptonomicon came out, but I'd given up hope that it would ever happen again.

I really need to get my hands on a copy of Cryptonomicon. I've read Snow Crash many times, and I love it. Maybe I'll look for it in Logos.
