Miss Bea seems to be thriving as an only cat. We might consider adding another cat next year - although it would have to be a younger one that she could dominate a little more.

I'm glad she's doing well. How are you two doing?

We're doing okay. As awful as this has been, it would be far worse with zero cats in the house than it has been with one.

The wife had a minor meltdown yesterday; the vet that made the house visit gave us an orchid along with Hilde's ashes. The orchid fell over and snapped and she just sobbed because it was the last sort of link.
(It may be salvageable. Here's hoping.)
