The wife threw her back out yesterday. She's okay - was told basically to take Aleve, use a heating pad, and rest. Not fun, but thankfully not that serious.

I feel tons better today. Amazing what getting 8+ hours of sleep does for your mood.

I'm not awake yet...I read that first line and thought, "His wife threw who back out again? What did I miss?"

Caffeine is my co-pilot. Better living through chemistry.

Ow. I'm glad it's not too serious. Give her my best, please. Do you know a competent chiropractor, maybe?
Yay! for sleep :)

Woof! Does she have anyone local to do some work on her back for her? I know of folks down the South Bay way but no one up here oddly.

What caused her back to do this to her?

...yes, sleep matters!

Do you folks have plans Saturday night?

She was feeding the cat. That food is heavy stuff.

re Saturday, dunno yet - my dad will be in town and we may be getting together with him.

Blech. Back pain is NO fun (having had problems on and off since my last car accident ... 6? years ago ...). At least one assumes it's just a pulled muscle or something? Sounds like the advice is about all that can/should be done.

It is amazing what GOOD sleep can do for one's attitude. <g> I am feeling rather grainy myself (cat barf at 3:30, after snapping awake from a dream where the alarm clock went off ... sheesh!).

A heating pad? (he asked, sounding dubious)

Usually you want to use ice on a recently-injured back, to reduce the swelling (which is what is causing most of the pain), along with the anti-inflammatory drugs. Heat is bad until you get to the actual healing-up stage. Ice can work magic on a back, take it from me... it's no fun to endure, but the results are worth it.
