I've found that I work best on a decent breakfast. Some folks can handle not having anything in the morning, but I'm not one of them. Usually I have a bowl of cereal at work around 7 AM, lunch brought from home around noon, and things are fine.

Today we had a broker coming in at 8 AM, so he planned to supply bagels. Okay, so I didn't bring anything. I was feeling a bit noshy by 8, but no big deal.

Except... he didn't have any food.

Okay, I can handle this. I didn't bring in lunch today because the uber-Yankee$ fan in our department owed me lunch today as a payoff for our ALCS bet. We can take an early lunch around 11.

Except... he couldn't make it today. Presentations to make, blah blah blah.

stomach growls, head starts spinning

I got lunch from the local deli around 11 anyway, but it's been a very, very long time since I've felt actively dizzy from lack of food.

Blood sugar crashage sucks. That's why I always have a power bar in my purse! You could stash one (or your preferred equivalent) in your desk drawer.

I remember years and years ago, when I was working in a warehouse before I went to College ... money was tight (I was still working out the whole 'budget' thang), and so I didn't eat breakfast, and had no money for lunch (payday was that day or the next or something). I literally passed out from hunger ... working in a warehouse is hard physical work. I had no idea how much it could take out of you until that point.

Not recommended. &;lt;g> I usually have a breakfast "bar" (oatmeal thing from Quaker Oats .. pretty good) with my morning coffee, which tides me over to lunch somewhere between 11 and noon.
