Hurricane Galen
Aug. 17th, 2003 11:21 amThe kitten continues to rampage in the bathroom... he's discovered that in between the shower curtains is a good place to hide. He's also learned how to jump up onto the sink, and last night he broke a glass there. No damage done to him, fortunately, and the glass broke in the sink so it wasn't horrendous to clean up.
We're currently trying to introduce him to our foyer, as part of the program to get him used to the house. Mixed success so far. He's either managed to squirm under the kitty gate, or clamber up and over - we're not sure which, but he got out of the bathroom. (sigh)
We spent yesterday in Palo Alto at the Stanford Theatre - saw a double feature of The African Queen and Beat the Devil, a lesser-known Huston film starring Bogart. The upstairs neighbor describes it as a "film noir, crime, screwball comedy" which is about right. A bit hard to follow, because of the different accents (Italian, Arabic, Peter Lorre) and the old print.
It's almost always enjoyable to sit up in the balcony and watch old films.
