Yesterday the wife and I went for a short hike in the Sutro Forest. This is a small open space within the City that has a few hilly trails. It was originally Sutro's property that he planted with eucalyptus and pine trees. I'd been eyeing it as a place to hike for a while and it was finally an open and non-rainy day to go.

It made me happy. Not as happy as being among the redwoods in Muir Woods, but still. Just being in the trees and hearing birdsong helped refresh me. Afterwards we walked down to the Haight and had a bite (trying to avoid the dirty hippies).
