This week's Resolution Recipe: Sesame Halibut Steaks.
3 halibut steaks, 1 1/4" thick
dash of salt
6 tsp butter
3 cups bread crumbs
pinch salt
1/8 tsp pepper
3 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds
1/2 tsp thyme
1/3 cup butter, melted
Heat oven to 350°. Place the fish in a buttered baking pan, sprinkle with salt and top each with 2 tsp butter. Combine the remaining ingredients and sprinkle each steak with one cup of the mixture. Bake, uncovered, until the fish flakes easily when tested with a fork, 25-30 minutes.
What worked: It was okay. I didn't expect much more, honestly.
What didn't: It could have used more pepper (and maybe lemon pepper).
Will I make it again? I won't be in a hurry, but perhaps.
