A Nice Day

We went to see Yeomen of the Guard yesterday with [livejournal.com profile] callistotoni, the Upstairs Neighbors, and G-M & C. Much hilarity ensued. My dad had season tickets to the Lamplighters when I was growing up, so I've seen nearly the entire run of Gilbert & Sullivan, done by a high-quality troupe. This was no exception. Looking at the program, I realized that the death-faced baritone has been in the Lamplighters for 40 years now, and I remembered him from Ruddygore back in the mid-80s! He reminded me of Bonefinder - same hilarously gangly comedic movement style, albeit with a much lower voice.

Then to dinner at Moose's Restaurant. Every good Crosstonian should go there. Good food and company.

And now, back to work.

I've got tickets for this coming Friday night. My uncle was in the chorus for years, and I got into a run of The Sorcerer in the 4th grade. We always tried to catch the Champagne Gala at the end of the season. Good stuff.

I am envious beyond belief. I have only recently discovered the Lamplighters (going on three years) and am unable to attend the current production. It is so nice to see people support them since they are such an incredible troupe, and the productions are so fantastic.
Did you get to see the Mikado?
