The cat is out of the bag

I was awakened at 4:30 this morning by the oh-so-distinctive sound of a cat throwing up - hnh, hnh, hnh, hplahht!
Then again at 5 AM. And at 5:15, 5:30, 6:00, 7:00...
Galen is mostly a quiet kitty; he didn't inherit Siamese talkiness. But he started doing painful kitten meows before the dry heaves ("Oh no, not again!"). He wouldn't eat or drink, or use the litter box.
So we took him to a vet emergency room. Fortunately, no fever, no stomach distention or soreness. They injected him with fluids and gave him some anti-nausea drugs. We'll keep an eye on him, and if he doesn't recover then back to the vet for more invasive tests. Hopefully it clears up on its own.
Not what I needed before I fly to Florida tomorrow morning for a three-day conference...
