Another downside to the computer frying: lack of keeping-up over the weekend. Sheesh, you people are prolific posters.

It sounds like we got lucky. The friendly not-so-neighborhood tech support guy put our hard disk in the freezer, and was able to recover most of the data to the new one. I should be able to pick it up today, and then I can e-mail again! As well as reading several webcomics that the work sniffer has deemed "unfriendly". I guess because of their graphics size; certainly they aren't work-unsafe in any other way I can determine.

What I'm reading: Neil Gaiman, Neverwhere - just watched the DVD while ironing yesterday.

Duncan/Scott absolutely loved that book.
He is now going to the library and grabbing the "Young Adult" books that Gaiman has written. (Please note that Duncan was not encopuraged to read as a child or young man. He still only buys one book at a time or checks out one book at a time.) I bought him the Neverwhere series because he had loved the book so much.

Neverwhere is quite good -- both the DVD and the book. Okay, the quality of "effects" is not spectacular, but frankly I don't think you need it for the show. Definitely worth it. I read the book before I saw the DVD -- didn't know it was out until I caught it on PBS and taped it. Shortly after the DVD came out ... kewl. <g>

Glad to hear your tech guy was able to recover most of the what was on your hard drive. That reminds me, I need to find time to back up mine ... eeeeek.

Oh, I've read the book several times before. Hadn't seen the series until last night, though.
