I had an enjoyable Friday night. A friend came over, we drove to the Upper Haight (and found the ill-marked parking lot, eventually). A quick dinner at Citrus Club, which neither of us had tried before. I was served a gigantic bowl of yummy soup. I'd go back, if it was anywhere convenient -- which of course, it isn't.
Then to the bookstore for the Lois McMaster Bujold signing. There was a decent turnout; they had more people than chairs, although that was still less than 100. I got to see The Necklace, which is made from silver wire and her various Hugo/Nebula/etc tie-tacks. Very Cool.
Her best line of the night was on book covers - she said that most of them are decent whether she has input or not, but that one British cover had a particularly appalling "Pillsbury Nazgul".
Nice lady.
