madbakerGalen was a butthead last night / this morning.
Much more so than usual. Normally he runs some laps (skitter skitter skitter, claws on hardwood, kitchen to bedroom to kitchen to bedroom to...) and the wife will distract him in the living room while I sleep.
Last night? Laps start around 9:30 PM. Okay, I can doze off through that.
But dumping the phone off the stand in the bedroom? Knocking things off the dresser? Getting underneath the dresser and skittering about?
Nope.
The wife tried to distract him, but his little mind was fixated on playing in the bedroom.
I got to the "British nanny" stage about 12:30. All I wanted to do was sleep; and if that meant picking up the cat and shaking him until his pea-brain rattled... I was about there.
At that point the wife closed and locked the bedroom door (she later picked the lock from the outside so she could get in) and stood sentry with the squirt bottle. If he started to yowl or scratch, he got wet.
It worked. I slept. Tired this morning, though. And Galen is being cute and snuggly.
