According to CA state Senator Tom McClintock (Thousand Oaks), I'm not married:
"The reason marriage is fundamentally different from a civil contract is that marriage is formed for a fundamental purpose - that is, to bring a new life into the world."
(Statistics show that 40% of all American couples, hetero or homosexual, report a 50-60% drop in sexual activity within 4 years of marriage.... NIH report, 2004...)
I think couples who want to get married shouldn't be allowed to unless they bring their babies with them, then. Anyone who can't prove progenability (is that a word?) will have their marriages annulled immediately.
