Yesterday was the feast day of St. Clement. Which is important because St. Clement is the patron saint of the London Worshipful Company of Bakers.

So I made a batch of bread. It wasn't entirely successful; I could blame the cold weather, and that probably contributed. I think that my sourdough starter is tired, though, and I should feed it and leave it out on the counter for a few days to whip it back into shape.

In other bread news, I've put up a page on the Hlafclaenness Dom, or Anglo-Saxon Bread Purity Law of 1047. Be sure to read the disclaimer!
