The streak is broken

I don't play the CA tax on the probability-challenged (aka lottery) very often - only when the payout is above $20 million, and then only when I remember. In the years it's been in existence, I have never won.

Not just the jackpot, obviously. I have never won five bucks. Or even a free ticket. Nada. Zip. Not a sausage. Bugger all.

Until this morning, when I won (wait for it...) a whole two dollars.

In more entertaining news, I am going to the Giants/Rockies game tonight with a broker. Dinner and (probably many) drinks before, too. Looking forward to it!

rasp alarm

Whether Galen sleeps on the bed or not, he almost always comes up and starts washing my face around the time the alarm goes off. Sometimes five minutes before (as he did this morning) and sometimes a couple minutes after, when I'm still trying to drag my sleepy butt out of bed.

It doesn't make it any easier to leave the warm bed and snuggling wife when there's twelve pounds of loudly purring beast sitting on your chest, grooming you. And he's so happy while he's doing it...

This might explain why I've barely been on time to work this week.
