But I found today's Irregular Webcomic absolutely hilarious.

What I'm reading: Simon R. Green, Paths Not Taken

This is wrong, wrong on so many levels.
Keplers goes under!

I was just talking yesterday about the Neil Gaiman signing there... and now it's not going to happen.

Edited to add:Borderlands Books in San Francisco is taking orders for signed copies of Anansi Boys. Not as good as getting it personally signed, but much easier for me than going to Berkeley.

Being right.

Especially when your boss - and his boss the pointy-haired boss - are wrong.
And they have set the overall strategy that you are involved (and paid) on.

I can't even say "I told you so".

madbaker: (Giants)
Yesterday was a good day to be at the ballpark. The weather was beautiful (if a bit hot -- I sweated off sunscreen and got mildly burned in oddish places, such as the back of my right hand).

However, I bought the tickets preseason, back when everybody thought the Giants might actually not suck worse than a ten-dollar hooker. (It used to be fifty cents, but, well - inflation.)
I got the best seats available: third base side, lower upper nosebleed. I could have gotten better tickets at the box office that morning.

Oh well. It was still a good time with a friend, the Giants actually won, and I didn't go into work. So the day was good.
And today, the wife returns from her family visit!
