I am tired this morning.
This weekend was grueling. Friday was a special school session, followed by the usual Saturday school. 16 hours of focused MBA classes - three of the four were very good, intense discussions, and generally what it should be when I'm paying this kind of money. The fourth, not so much. Oh well.

Sunday was lots of running around getting "normal" weekend stuff done. With a lot of fail, such as me inexplicably forgetting my PIN and potentially locking up my ATM card. Oops. But I got home in time to change and clean up for [livejournal.com profile] aimeric and [livejournal.com profile] wufmew's evening wedding. I wore my "friends wedding" tie: it's a Green Eggs and Ham tie that my friend Steve gave me as a best man present at his wedding. (He was also our best man, and I wore the tie to [livejournal.com profile] roswtr and [livejournal.com profile] mastersantiago's wedding too.)

The wedding was glorious - outdoors in Woodside near Alice's Restaurant. Couldn't have asked for a nicer day to be on the grass, with huge trees and the Bay Area in the background.

[livejournal.com profile] aimeric was utterly himself, very funny while still showing reverence at the (generally) appropriate times. [livejournal.com profile] wufmew was radiant and stunning. Brides are supposed to be that way on their wedding day. Clearly they are doing the right thing.

Aimeric entered the reception hall in a top hat and wielding a borrowed cane to "Puttin' on the Ritz". I was vastly amused that at least 1/3 of the hall spontaneously chimed in to the chorus with "Pu'in' ah the Reeez!" Peter Boyle-style.

Coffee now.

madbaker: (Giants)
Assuming it is not rained out, I have tickets to Wednesday's Giants game and Cy Young presentation. The seats aren't fabulous - bleachers, but hey. It was my own dime.

I just got offered a ticket by a broker. We don't currently do business, so he danced around the fact that I'd have to reimburse him for the ticket (understandably, it's not a client expense if I'm not a client). Not really an issue though... even if I was a client, city policy requires me to pay for my own sports events tickets anyway.

Le sigh. Maybe I'll see him there and let him buy me a beer.
