Jul. 9th, 2010 06:10 amHow could I forget the bear? I love that when told a local had shot a bear, and did we want it, the immediate response was "Yes please, and I know a period recipe we can use." From multiple people.
It was worth trying. Honestly one of the other groups that got a chunk did a tastier job - they marinated it for 12 hours and then made a curry stew. Since the bear was lean it came out better than our roast. But we used a period recipe. For bear!
