...I did not expect that.
Feb. 4th, 2016 07:23 amThe boss is an adjunct professor at USF, and drives in from Sacramento twice a week to teach some business classes.* This means that he's in the office more regularly. Yesterday, he announced that we were going to have regular go-out-to-lunch Wednesdays. Which doesn't mean fancy dining; it's finding a local sandwich place. That's fine by me.
I came into work today to find a card from him, thanking me for being part of the team for the last five years. Especially the previous few when we struggled. It also contained a gift card to a local steakhouse. Not a huge one, but enough that the wife and I can meet for a drink and a date some evening. It was a nice thought.
* Personally, I can't imagine the salary pays for the gas let alone the time, but whatever. The fact that I personally would make a very bad professor - and hate it - may factor into this assessment.
