Hil and Silent Bea
Jul. 9th, 2020 07:16 amThe wife described Hildegard and Beatrice as "Jay and Silent Bea". Hilde is long and lanky, and very vocal - she talked all through a recent litter box usage. I can completely imagine this as "F*ck, f*ck, motha- mothaf*ck."
Bea is smaller, stockier, and while she will talk occasionally (especially now, a week in our place) she is mostly silent. Both purr a lot though.
I may never be able to un-mind this analogy.
The girls met briefly the other day. It didn't go bloodily, but it could have been better. There were a couple hisses, a growl, and a half-hearted swat attempt. I am in the office today and the wife is going to try placing them in their crates facing each other.
Hilde also is a huge fan of the finger-monster under the bedcovers. And the toe-monster. And the leg-monster. She likes flying toys the best though, as she apparently is a birder. Bea seems more intent on the wriggling toys, but she also hasn't jumped much. (I compared her to a guinea pig yesterday. Unkind perhaps, but not totally inaccurate.) She has tried to climb my leg a couple times; fortunately it was when I was wearing jeans. I suspect she may eventually try to jump directly into my arms.
