I'm famous! Well, quoted.
Sep. 12th, 2003 07:12 amI was quoted in an article running in USA Today and the Wall Street Journal yesterday.
Okay, if you're going to get all technical about it, my quote was three words long...
We took Galen to the vet Wednesday. No problems, fortunately, but something kinda interesting/scary: we've had him just over a month. When we brought him home, he was a 3-lb. kitten.
Two days ago, Galen had grown to 5.5 pounds.
The vet (who is my age, having gotten her undergrad degree the year before I did) fed Galen his worming paste. He wasn't thrilled with the taste - it's banana flavored.
Why not something cats like? Say, tuna. Or chicken.
Only a cat like Bucky in Get Fuzzy might enjoy the taste; you could tell him it's monkey-flavored.
Kittens GROW...
Date: 2003-09-12 06:24 pm (UTC)Saw the bobcat kittens that I was (in)famous for in the Morgan Hill Times (http://morganhilltimes.com/news/newsview.asp?c=37252) yesterday. When I first saw them in April, they were 2-3 weeks old, scrawny, perhaps about 0.5 kg. (1 lb) They were slightly wet, with a thin straggly coat, shivering and alternating between mewing and hissing.
Yesterday, they were beautiful half-grown bobcats with thick gorgeous pelts, weighing between 5.5-5.7 kg each. (12-12.5 lbs) It's so cool to indulge in petting them when they're under anesthesia! I petted them, ran my fingers through the fur, as well as checking ears, heart, teeth, etc.
My job is so fun at times. :)
Yeah, Strongit is banana flavored. It's also used as horse deworming stuff, which is likely the reason for the flavor.
Very cool icon!
