When it comes to his litterbox, our cat is a "flinger". Yesterday we got him a new box with sides twice the height of the old one.
He's taken the challenge. So far he's only managed to ricochet litter back into his hindquarters, though.

I realize your place isn't very big, but the Dr. Fosters "box" that is lined (with a removable liner) and carpeted, is really handy. We get very little cat litter on the floor now, and the smell is contained a bit (unless someone doesn't cover up their poo properly ...).
