Personally, I use "Galen-Kitty" a lot. Other nicknames are "Bitey" and "Butthead".

Hematite: Hemmie, Hemmers, Hem-Hem, Hemmerdoodles, Doodles, Miss Mew, Hepatitis (L's mom, who couldn't remember the cat's name....nor did she know what "Hematite" and "Hepatitis" are and hence compounded the error many times over)
