My trick knee is aching today. It's not a reliable front porch weather indicator, though; I got the prediction from the radio on the drive in.

Some years back during a play rehearsal, I developed mild tendinitis -- not enough to do anything surgically, just enough to ache when I stand or sit for a long period of time. And enough to make me feel creaky and cranky.

Dagnabbit.

Old, old, old...

My knee is bugging me today too. I've noticed that since I turned 40 I've started getting weird aches and pains that have no logical reason for existing. I figure it's old abuses my body suffered in my younger days coming back to haunt me. My mother told me this would happen--I didn't believe her. I'll probably be dead soon.

The warranty has expired. After the age of thirty the warranty expires, and nothing is guaranteed anymore. Kind of annoying, and definitely a pain. <g> I had knee surgery (arthroscopic) sometime after my 30th birthday (back when arthroscopic was still relatively surgery new). My knee will never be the same, but it's tons better than before the surgery. Unfortunately there are things I can't do anymore.

Anyway, I'm sure you've got a long life ahead of you. At least, I hope so!

I would never have figured you for 40. Damn woman, you look GOOD. I would have guessed 30-32, if asked.
Do you bathe in the blood of virgins every night or what?

Quit piling dirt on me!

I do notice my age more and more, seeing my folks this year really emphasized it. I can't just suck it up and pretend I'm young for an afternoon of strenuous sports. I heal slower, metabolize slower, and merely sleeping badly can cross me up for a few days. Vision is not as good as it was, hands are a little stiffer, and my hair doesn't shield my head from the sun, or warm it in the winter anymore.

I guess I should just be gracious and admit I'm not young anymore, but that's pride messin' with your head...

You know you're old when:
-- People 10 years younger complain about how old they're feeling. :-/

-- You wish you had the money for a face lift.
-- preventive dentistry starts not being enough.

Blah. Still beats being dead.
