Change (mostly) for the better
Jan. 10th, 2006 07:28 amI'm light-activated. I tend to fall asleep when the sun is down and wake up when it's light. This is exacerbated by my East Coast work schedule, but I'd be this way even if I was working grave shift. (Which would kill me.)
Ten years back, I used to fall asleep at GSP cast parties around 10 or 11. Sometimes in the middle of conversations. It wasn't that I was bored - just that my body said "Off now, thanks."
I can't handle lack of sleep as well now as I could then. However, I stayed awake at the Half-Life party until 2 or 2:30 AM. Without caffeine - I was having a good time, and adrenaline and socializing kept me awake.
Even if it's much tougher to bounce back afterwards, it's nice to be able to do that sort of thing on the rare occasions where I want to. I guess some things do improve as you get older.
