Our mobile loofah
Sep. 25th, 2003 08:15 amOne of the reasons Galen came home with us from the SPCA was his cuddling: when I picked him up, he purred heavily, stropped under my chin, and then started washing it. I just about melted. So cute!
Fast-forward two months...
He’s still cute. The washing, however, is becoming less so.
I don’t know if it’s a weaning issue or what. He just plain likes licking my chin and cheeks. Maybe the residual stubble feels the same as a cat tongue? He’ll do the same to Dawn, but only briefly before coming back to me.
So why do we put up with this? He purrs heavily, so I have to think it’s a bonding thing.
Last weekend, he tried to wash my chin about five or six times during the night. I just wanted to sleep! Finally I threw him out and closed the door.
Makes me want to get him a buddy – maybe then the two would groom each other rather than us.

Bozo groomed the kid when he was pre-mobile.
