Things I learned at the War

• Bring extra dry socks.
• Finding out that your boots need to be re-waterproofed - the hard way, by tromping around in the muck and the rain and the knee-high grass - sucks.
• Running a parking shuttle for two hours is surprisingly fun. It's all about random conversation.
• Congratulations to shadowwalkyr, for his well-deserved AoA.  COPE!
  
• A ginormous number of fighters will show up in semi-crappy weather so they can beat the semi-crap out of each other.

Edited to add (as I think of them):

• A beaver fur felt hat sheds water really, really well.  Gosh, that's a shocker.  Nice though.
• Toes should not be yellow.  Unless they are incredibly cold from being soaked all day.

Ren Faire taught me long ago - clean, dry socks pack really well. Bring lots. Leave a pair in your car, with your towel, you hoopy frood you, just in case.
