Okay, the Apple II game emulator has probably been around for a while, and I just never noticed it. (Only seems to work with Microsquish IE)

I wasted too much time yesterday reliving some of the good bits from junior high school - playing Ali Baba. With MIDI sound effects.

Does anyone else think that it is extremely bizarre that the Apple II game emulator only works with a Microsoft product?

There are a couple of downloadable emulators I've been using for a while, but it's fantastic to see this as a web emu. (I think there's a trash-80 and colecovision web emu out there as well somewhere as well as a few arcade emus. Oh wait, there's also a TI version - used to play the TI version of Hunt the Wumpus that way).

Some o my favorites:

- Spare Change (you run an arcade and try to stop these little pairs of feet from stealing your quarters. The line that connects their feet pop up and down, clicking. They actually seem to talk to each other in something like Morse Code. You can distract them by, among other things, putting a quarter in the popcorn machine and have them click along to the popping kernels. Or get them to call each other on the telephone and click away. They hop up and down in anger when you steal a quarter from them. Pac-man-like intermissions every level. I love this game)

- Robot Odyssey (darn, they don't have it in the archive. Build your own logic gates and chips to get robots to navigate mazes and work cooperatively. From Warren Robbinett, who did Rocky's Boots and Atari 2600 Adventure)

- Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (now a 'bot on AOL Instant Messenger)
- Leather Goddesses of Phobos
- Elite
- Bruce Lee
- Hard Hat Mack (better than Donkey Kong)
- Castle Wolfenstein/Smurfenstein (the classic, plus the first Mod ever)
- Oregon Trail
- Lemonade Stand (just for nostalgia purposes)
- Drol (big bouncing scorpians; 'nuff said)
- Wizardry, Bard's Tale, Might & Magic II
- Horse Racing Classic (just because the horses' names were so silly)

...my god, I'll be here all week listing 'em. Can I get a job in classic gaming punditry?

Oh yeah, I forgot about Oregon Trail!
I remember playing a low-res space mining game - I think it was called Titan. I haven't been able to find it.
