I have a free morning/early afternoon next week in NY. I'm already planning to do the Statue of Liberty thang, which I've never done. On another day I'm going back to the Cloisters (which I went to last year) so I can take pictures of the 15th century stool for [livejournal.com profile] albionwood; and I'm going to try to then see the new Morgan Library museum.

Any other suggestions? I've already been to the Met a few times and I don't think they have must-see exhibitions this year.

I've heard good rumors about the Brooklyn museum, but that was for costume stuff.

If you do find yourself at the Met, there are some memento mori style beads that I'd love to have good images of. All pre-18th century woodwork is cool!

I look forward to the report on the Morgan Library. It was closed the last time we were in NY.

Personally I've always wanted to see the Natural History Museum--it's chock full of cool stuff.

There's an exhibition of medieval sculpture at the Met. Specifically, it's about the depiction of emotion in human figures, covering the transition between Romanesque & Gothic.
