Jan. 5th, 2007 04:50 pmOn the way out of town, the wife and I stopped by Piccino, a breakfast/lunch cafe just over the hill from us. The people who run it made pizza at Pizzetta 211 - very good California-style pizza, but on the other side of town.
The cafe was full (not that it's large, but it's still a good sign). We placed our order and sat at the only free table, outside. While we waited, the kitchen sent out a complementary plate of roasted garbanzos and potatoes "because you're sitting outside in the cold". Yummy. We ordered the special, winter greens and pancetta. No tomato sauce. It was quite good.
I was trying to help by returning our plate, but I dropped it just inside the door. It shattered, miraculously avoiding spraying the guy sitting there with olive oil. I was embarrassed. Despite that, we'd still go back.
