Vomiting (Since he was sick as a kitten, he'll do anything not to vomit. It's pretty sad to be woken up by kitten hoorking. It's even sadder when there's a pitiful meow right before it.)
Not eating (This cat is a grazer at best. Some days I think he has only eaten three bites of food. Others, he's ravenous.)
Lethargy (Well, all I can say is, he's a cat who's nickname is "the boneless wonder" for a reason.)
As for the water/urinating, we keep a good eye on that.
Zootie fights throwing up as well. When he does have a hairball (a lot less now that we are using those treats that mad_duchess pointed out), he often will fight it coming up, which makes me wish he could understand when I say "Just let it out!", but ... oh well.

If you see these things, take him in for a blood test. From what I've heard, it's kidney damage that you have to look out for.
