Yesterday's "minor dental surgery", also known as "root scaling and planing", was fortunately not as bad as the explanatory CD led me to believe. Oh, it wasn't fun - but it was more a standard dental appointment squared, using local anasthesia and a crab pick, not a belt sander as I expected.
Granted, I was pretty swollen yesterday: I have the inverse of Wolverine's power* but I was prepared for that and iced my cheek most of the day. Today, I feel okay. I'm not chewing anything today and I've taken some Tylenol, but I'm all right.
Now I just have to not stress my body by overdoing it with the Beltane packing.
*I have a non-mutant non-healing factor. I heal more slowly than normal humans.

Date: 2007-05-03 05:26 pm (UTC)The spouse had the nasty one with the gums being cut, and all that, so they could get to the roots and really clean 'em good. I think this had to take a couple of visits, and she had to drink (nearly everything -- dunno if she even drank coffee for some time after) through a straw for awhile.
I had "sonic" cleaning done on my roots once, which wasn't as bad, but a bit odd ... and it too took two visits.
