If they don't win it's the same.
Jun. 27th, 2007 07:36 amLast night's Giants game was a microcosm of their season so far...
The Good: Zito pitched eight innings and only gave up two earned runs on less than 100 pitches. Zito vs. Boomer was fun to watch. The broker's seats were field club, behind first base. The weather was nippy but not cold - I was flashing back to Candlestick initially, but it never got quite that far.
The Bad: Despite Zito being effective, the Giants lost 3-2. The Padres made three errors and only had five or six hits... the Giants loaded the bases several times and got nothing. They stranded 15 runners!
The Ugly: Zito fouled out twice trying to sacrifice bunt. Okay, you're a pitcher, and one who's spent most of his career in the AL - but the one thing you have to practice is laying down a bunt. He got booed loudly the second time by the crowd, including me.
