Here's the Capitano mask in various stages of development, from clay on a life mask to finished product.

The moustache and eyebrows are horse hair, sewn down and fixed with rabbit hide glue; we waxed the mask with beeswax to protect the paint as well as impart a sheen.

It's papier-mache -- using high-quality paper and rabbit hide glue. It's a period method.

It looks great! Very menacing, almost like a villain in a Mighty Mouse cartoon, which makes it perfect for Commedia!
