Their Majesties asked her to join the Order of the Laurel last night at Mists Investiture!
Anna had originally thought it might be nice to be a surprise peerage, but changed her mind. (Planning means that among other things, your friends and relatives can make it - something that I personally missed as a surprise Laurel.) When I mentioned this in council Their Maj's decided to extend the offer publicly at the event; that way she got the benefit of the surprise shock and still gets to plan what she wants for her ceremony.
Yes, we are evil. The hall erupted in cheers and Anna turned bright red for half an hour, at least.
I am incredibly proud and pleased, but honestly I had very little to do with it. This is all on her own very substantial merits.
I guess this LJ tag gets retired for a while. (Which I'm just fine with.) Congratulations again, Anna. I will be extremely happy to have you acknowledged as our peer in the order.
