Galen did something this morning that he had never done before.

Barf all over the floor.
At 2 AM.
Fortunately, my wife woke up and took care of it. And Galen seemed okay two hours later when I got up.

Writ by a friend who is a dog-lover; this is part of his opus "But cats are so clean!"

Cats barf up their hairball vomit
So in the dark you step right on it.

It really defines the moment, I think!

Welcome to the club!!

Have you had poop-bottom yet? One of mine occasionally gets bits of poop stuck to her rear, and carries it all over the house. I usually discover it when she leaps into my arms to cuddle and the smell about knocks me over. Fun stuff!! :-)

Yeah. That happens every once in a while. Minor compared to the last six months of our previous cat's life. See, she was 19, and had what the vet terms "litterbox avoidance issues".

...which meant we had paper towels and 409 in nearly every room.

Sigh. Was the vomitus food or hairball, or other?

Feel free to give me a call at work (Animal Care Center at Morgan Hill) tomorrow if you have concerns; I only have two appointments all day tomorrow.

Galen's spew

It was food. The wife has been cutting out a felt-oid material for a project (Oppy Jr. Nuclear Family Garments, baby bunting with four arms) and apparently Galen thought some of the scraps were yummy.

We think the problem will pass (pun intended, one already has). If he doesn't perk up by this weekend we'll take him in.

Thanks though!

Well, watch for further vomiting (especially if he can't hold down food or water), diarrhea, or anorexia. Most felt type materials shouldn't give any problems, but it is always good to watch closely.

He seems to be doing much better. Eating more again and attacking the evil shoelace monsters!
