Is there life after debt?

I'm sending off a check today that should pay off the car. More than a year early.
Granted - much of the prepayments were made when I had a steadier (and higher) income. And the debt is a lower interest rate than, say, the student loans I just took out for my MBA. (And we have 20 years left on our mortgage.)
But I'm still glad to have one less debt out there.
