We saw Coraline today. I liked it, although I could have done without the added character.

Beware - spoiler

WHY did they need an extra character? Why?????? Because there always needs to be a boy to save the girl! God forbid they stick to the script and let her (gasp!) save herSELF.

Harrumph.

Agreed on the extra character. The book was all about Coraline solving the problem (with a bit of help from the cat). No need for the extra character ... but ... oh well. Still a good flick.

Have ot read the book - I usually wait until after the movie to do so. Movie was a work of art. Was surprised when I found a theatre packed with small children - who soon started talking, then crying, and ultimately left with their parents about half way into the movie.

I guess Mom and Dad didn't review the film before bringing their little ones.
