It's...edible. But I wouldn't create a meal around it.

My experience has been that the more something tries to be pretend-meat, the less I like it. Hence Gardenburgers make a tasty sandwich that can take burger toppings without pretending to resemble ground beef. Boca Burgers are disgusting grey lumps that remind me of the worst-quality burgers I had as a kid.

I rather like being able to avoid getting roped into the standard turkey/potatoes/yam casserole thingy/etc. The boy does use the holiday as a reason to request pumpkin pie though.

Oh, man, Tofurkey is awful. Some of their products can be used as ingredients in other dishes (if adequately dominated by stronger flavors), but not as the main item, no. There are a lot of veggie meats that Colletteshorses and I buy, but the Tofurkey brand isn't one of them.

Colletteshorses likes Quorn. It won't fool a carnivore, but it's rather good, in its own way. Their faux chicken has a surprisingly real flavor. The texture isn't quite there, but give these people some time. They're making headway in the faux meat category.

Now, if the Quorn company can just include the proper nap-inducing chemistry in their false turkey, they might really have something...
