I went to lunch with a work colleague at Jai Yun. I didn't realize until afterwards that it was on the 2007 100 Things To Eat in SF list, so go me. I'm giving myself credit for it anyway, which takes me to 45 (including the two that will not be available after next week, because the restaurants are closing).

The item in question on the list is Crispy eggplant. I couldn't order this: partly because I don't like eggplant, but mostly because they don't let you order. They serve you what they want to make that day, omakase style.
I respect that. Also, the food is very good and I'd like to return to try other things.

Hmmmm...

Well, I'm not a fan of seafood. What I like are restaurants with exotic or unusual flavor combos. I'm all about big portions. I don't care how well decorated the plate is, if it is just a cracker, I'm gonna be hungry.

From scratch - anybody can open up a can of soup. But do they start from scratch?

What neighborhood are you staying in? Are you interested in places you can walk to or are you willing to travel across the City?

I would definitely recommend Incanto (While we're on good terms with the owner and executive chef, dropping our names won't get you anywhere). Lulu is also good for the Friday night roast suckling pig.

Take a look at the list and see what strikes your fancy...
