Well, there is anime/manga. Like the cool and/or thought-provoking kind with nice graphics:
_Appleseed_ _Akira_ _Gatchaman_ (Name abbreviated for those not in the know) _Saint Seiya_ _Crying Freeman_ _Big O_ _Inyuasha_ _Ranma 1/2_ etc.
Then there's the 'I will wear nothing and giggle a lot and have no FREAKING plot whatsoever except to show gratuitious amounts of stuff' junk, that is what's on TV today.
Hmmm....I dont think I have seen any of the ones that you have mentioned. I may have to try them.
In general I have always preferred live action to animated. Though as far as mediums go, I am beginning to like computer aided stuff, like Golum. I would be willing to watch a movie made entirely with characters if they were as well done as that.
But then I have always liked realistic paintings as well. Ones that look almost like a photo rather than a painting, so maybe that's why. :)
Y'know, I never would've considered St. Seiya as either cool or having nice graphics. I mean, I watched it, but everybody around here always called it Hokuto no Ken for girls. :->
But Gatchaman! I remember watching the horrible translated version when I was a kid. It was weird to find out that they had to add in the 7Zark7 character because they'd chopped out so much of the violence. Even weirder to actually see the real version and see how much blood was flying.
Last year, I was so unfortunate as to work Fanime. Never doing that again. I was on security. The best thing I could recommend for the team for next year was to keep a roll of duct tape and a roll of surgical gauze for the girls who wear far too little clothing because "it's what the character wears."
Trust me, we were about one strong wind from a pr0n convention.
Ah, but you need to remember that it isn't anime that causes catgirls, but the irresponsble use by minors of anime that causes them. That, and the "Magical Girl" crap (Sailor Moon and the like).
Did you know that Julie and I met because of anime? Of course, that was back in {cough} the 80s {cough} when it was mostly geeky guys. Not a squealing teenybopper to be found.
I was just at Further Confusion last weekend (yes I'm that kind of weird. Not the part about "mascots having sex" and no not what was on CSI either.) Anyway, there was a "cat girl" japanese school girl walking around all con, and all I kept hearing was how frowned upon that was. She must have been 14/15, walking around with a collar and leash, high stockings and a short skirt.
Yes, it's true. The veterinarians are having a special day to help cut down on the number of unwanted critters, including catgirls. I may well send the link of the cartoon to the CVMA... :)

Feh.
That's what has taken over in the world today.
They should be flogged. Gah.
