I forget what it's like.

I did a dry run of the new commute - it took about 10 minutes longer than I thought at 7 AM, but that's why I do it before I start work. Since I was on that side of the bay already, I went to Muir Woods. I arrived about ten past eight and I was the first one there.
I was grinning for the first hour of my hike. The woods were damp, the streams full, the only noises were birds and rushing water. Being alone in the redwoods is incredibly refreshing to me. In my ideal world, I'd live in a Muir Woods-type setting with no neighbors. (But with full furnishings, internet, and easy access to the comforts of civilization.) I took a couple phone photos, but they're too blurry to post.
I'd forgotten how much I need that every now and again. Maybe working close(ish) will remind me.
